“Gimme A Rest” is a late-night conversation turned into a song. Beginning with a lone acoustic guitar before the full band gradually joins in, it mirrors the growing weight of a relationship at its breaking point. Honest, emotional, and bittersweet, it captures the moment when letting go becomes the only way forward.
*Lyrics*
Don’t wanna do this anymore
Don’t wanna say that I’ve been here before
Cause you don’t seem to understand
So why I’m offering my hand..
To you?
Gimme a rest I did my best
Falling for you the choice that I regret
Gimme a reason to replace
Myself with you?
Wake up and look around
Don’t you see?
We’re not where we used to be
Darling, told you what I need
I’ve been losing sleep
Trying hard to keep
Trying not to leave
Something’s never changed
They remain the same
I’m the one to blame for the things I said
It’s time to let me go, darling
I know you’ll get over this
Then find your own peace
Someday someone will love you like
I loved you before
Won’t you look around
Don’t you see?
We’re not where we used to be
Darling, told you what I need
I’ve been losing sleep
Trying hard to keep
Trying not to leave
Something’s never changed
They remain the same
I’m the one to blame for the things I said
(You know)
Darling, told you what I need
(I know)
I’ve been losing sleep
(We know)
Trying hard to keep
(We won’t be)
Trying not to leave
(You know)
Something’s never changed
(I know)
They remain the same
(We know)
I’m the one to blame
(We can’t be)
for the things I said
(You know)
Darling, told you what I need
(I know)
I’ve been losing sleep
(We know)
Trying hard to keep
(We won’t be)
Trying not to leave
(You know)
Something’s never changed
(I know)
They remain the same
(We know)
You’re the one to blame
(We can’t be)
